Does that mean a time of preparation for you and
and that is the literal meaning of 'Advent'? And is this preparation
hectic pace and Christmas shopping? Or is it also a moment for you
of pausing to look back over the year. In short,
are you preparing? And if so, for what?

Wouldn't now be the perfect opportunity to purify the soul
detox your soul, so to speak? It can help if you ask yourself a few
ask yourself a few questions: Have I got to where I wanted to be? Did I have
a goal at all? Did I just let myself drift? And am I satisfied
with it?

Here's a tip: take a piece of paper and write down
what you are grateful for this year - for which encounters,
experiences, people...! What good things have happened? And what have you learnt about
learnt about yourself? Have you perhaps dealt with difficult situations differently
and are happy about it? Have you been able to reconcile with someone
reconciled with someone or at least been more generous and tolerant towards others?
others?

Forgiveness as the highest form of reconciliation can
can actually be very relieving or even purifying. Don't worry, for this
you don't necessarily have to have the other person in front of you. Just do it
simply do it for yourself. The Hawaiians, for example, show us how to do it and
look back on a long tradition of forgiveness. They even have
even have a name for it: Ho'oponopono.

I would like to suggest a variation of Ho'oponopono as a way of
as a way of preparing for the new beginning of Advent.

Close your eyes. Imagine the person
you are annoyed with or angry at. You tell him inwardly
everything that is bothering you in this context and follow it with a very important
sentence: "I forgive you, I forgive myself, I forgive us." What happens
happen to the other person in your mind? Does it disappear from your field of vision
backwards or upwards? Or does it turn to ashes before your eyes? Then the
solved for you. Does the person in your perception react in any way
form or does it simply remain? Then there is still something standing between you.

In this case, take a minute and listen to yourself.
yourself. Which aspects have not yet been addressed? Do you
really forgive or are you not ready yet? What part do you
yourself in the conflict? Make yourself
realise that it is a process without apportioning blame: we are human beings
We are human and behave in the way we can at that moment.

Try it. Forgiveness can relieve us and our souls
and the effect can be very powerful.

I would be delighted to hear about your experience with it.
with it.

How do you actually see it when the first Advent is just around the corner, as it is today?
